PUZZLE

This series of photographs was created with the aim of deconstructing the human body through an aesthetic approach, in order to form two creatures without identity and gender. The composition of different colours and the 16:9 frame, gives the feeling of a 'moving' fixed image, so that the photographic image functions as a 'stop frame', due to the cinemascope feeling given through the cinematic frame. I use body shapes and mixed lighting to create the two hybrid creatures as a 'stop frame' set.  The ultimate purpose of the images is to demystify the material existence of the human being, concealing from the viewer elements that can reveal his or her gender, such as the face. The images are not based on the identity of the photographed person but on particular and more specific parts of the body, such as a mark, to emphasize that the creatures existence is not flawless, just as human existence should not be considered flawless either.
