THIS CITY NEVER SLEEPS

This series of photographs aims to address the issue of privacy and absence - presence.

Empty windows, balconies and apartment buildings in a city full of people. Where did they all go? Where did they hide?

The lights are on, but they are nowhere to be seen. In the whole section, we see only two figures emerging from their balconies, but they too are timidly hiding in their darkness.  If they're not asleep, why can't we see them? Who are they hiding from and why?

Are they hiding, I wonder, so that we don't really see them? The whole series is immersed in darkness, comparing the shadow to the

people's secrets and the light of their windows to those few, insignificant things they choose to share and show to others. These secrets vary from person to person, some are more intense, some more obvious and some deeply hidden, such as the light, colour and 'intensity' of the windows.
